HBQVAR replaced HBSQH. This test is only used for quantification pre- and post- treatment of KNOWN HbS patients, not for identification of abnormal hemoglobins. In addition, Hb C, Hb D, Hb E are quantified on known patients. Example: Both Hb S and Hb C levels are quantified on a patient with SC Disease.
